As a CCNP candidate, as a CCNA, and in getting ready to pass the BSCI exam, you may be tempted to breeze through your static route studies, or even skip them! That’s because static routes are easy enough to configure, and as long as you remember the syntax of the ip route command, you’re in good shape.

But there’s one vital detail regarding static routes that many exam candidates miss. That’s because many CCNA and CCNP books say “the administrative distance of a static route is 1″, but that is not quite accurate.

You know from your CCNA studies that the ip route command is used to create a static route, and that you have the option of configuring a local exit interface or a next-hop IP address at the end of the command. However, the administrative distances are not the same. The AD of a static route that uses a local exit interface is zero! (That’s because the router considers a static route with a local exit interface to actually be a directly connected network.) The AD of a static route with a next-hop IP address is 1.

Therefore, if the router has the following two ip route statements to consider…

Router(config)#ip route 172.1.1.1 255.255.255.255 fast0

Router(config)#ip route 172.1.1.1 255.255.255.255 210.1.1.1

… the prefix lengths are the same, so the static route using the local exit interface fastethernet0 will be preferred due to its lower AD, and will be installed into the routing table.

Time will tell if such a project ever gets off the ground, but we can only hope that as our oil resources dwindle and technology advances, this option will become more affordable and the world can benefit from a clean, steady stream of energy directly from the sun.

Instead, the Jewish homeland has been cursed with the “new” secular Israeli who wants to deny his Hebrew roots as a JEW, and biblical responsibilities, and be just like all the other nations, rather than a “Light to all nations.”

There’s nothing new under the sun. Such “Israelis” in times past were called Hellenists, and we know the unwarranted hatred they had for God and Jews of faith that created a schism, a breach, that enabled foreign intervention by Antiochus Epiphanes (“god in the flesh”) who wreaked havoc and polluted the Temple and slaughtered those who resisted his “advances” (all foreshadowing EU entanglement in Israel and their wannabe divine emperor polluting the imminent Temple).

Today the hypocritical family of nations preaches to Israel about how to allegedly obtain peace with the “Palestinians” (a fictitious people who have brainwashed the world with their BIG LIE) by surrendering “land for peace.” This despite the fact that history cries out that appeasement never works! Now Israel finds itself with a lot less land, but WHERE’S THE PEACE?

Instead of coming to their senses and scrapping such a miserably failed formula, Israel continues to swallow the poisonous concoction and under international influence, drunk on such delusions, listens to further wicked counsel by men and women playing God, some even professing to be Christians and Jews, nations with the chutzpah to mock and reject the LAND COVENANT that God made with Israel alone (Joel 3:2).

Israel is drinking itself to death, and refuses to recover from the bleeding wound the lying and deadly peace process has struck them with (Isa. 28:15-18), and digs themself in deeper (Dan. 9:11), instead of turning back to our Great Creator God (Hos. 6:1-2), the God who promised the Land to Israel (not to Ishmael), and confess that former Israeli Parliament Member and rabbi, Meir Kahane, was right! Israel is suffering the dire consequences for rejecting his prophetic warnings and call for Israel to remove the threat the Arab enemy poses and enforce PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH (Dan. 9:11).

International pressure will be exerted upon Israel to “share” Jerusalem, divide their eternal capital, with their “peace partners” who daily call for genocide against the Jews and the destruction of Israel! However, biblical prophecy reveals Jerusalem will be seized and taken from the Jews, the whole city captured by the covetous EU, and half of it (undoubtedly East Jerusalem) forcibly evicted, Jewish homes plundered and women brutally raped:

Zechariah 14:1-3

1 Behold, the day of the LORD is coming,
And your spoil will be divided in your midst.
2 For I will gather all the nations to battle against
Jerusalem;
The city shall be taken,
The houses rifled,
And the women ravished.
Half of the city shall go into captivity

But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from
the city.
3 Then the LORD will go forth
And fight against those nations,
As He fights in the day of battle.

The proud and stubborn nations, in rank violation against God’s Land Covenant with Israel, want to force themselves on Israel, have their way with Jerusalem and rape Jewish women! And Israel has whored around with foreign ways, submitted to their idolatrous ideas, and refused to submit to God’s Word and remember that the Holy One of Israel is King! The Great God of the Hebrews proved this to the nations when He took on the Egyptian superpower and rescued His damsel in distress.

God says to the foolish nations: “You want a piece of this?” And the nations that forget they are but men, only mortal, will dare defy God’s Word and Will, and come against Jerusalem not realizing our God of war, our Commander-in-Chief and LORD of Hosts, is drawing them into an ambush! He’ll let the fascist EU wreak havoc for awhile, even three and one half years, but then He will put them in their place, plague them for their impudence and drive them away like chaff from Jerusalem’s Temple Mount!

May Jerusalem and the cities of our God, the cities of Judah, hear this GOOD NEWS! And they will: Two witnesses – in the bold spirit of Elijah – will testify to this biblical account before Israel’s captive audience from occupied Jerusalem(Zech. 4:14).

We will not be left without comfort, but will be offered hope to fight despair and given faith to battle fear, encouraged by their announcement our heavenly King will come and save us:

The key is to get to the point early … you can have long copy on your website BUT (and I stress BUT) make sure the beginning of your message gets to the point quickly. That’s where you can lose people. It’s vitally important that you hook them quickly by offering strong “hit them in the face” benefits.

I will often start a letter by relating to the main frustrations or problems that a reader faces. Sometimes I will spend two or three paragraphs getting what I call the “nod factor” happening. (This is when they are nodding their head in agreement with what you have written).

With web copy, you simply can’t start your sales letter with three paragraphs of copy setting the scene.

Chop, then chop then chop again!

Even though I said writing long copy is definitely acceptable, what won’t work is FLUFF. Remove all those fluffy, round-about ways of saying things and replace them with short, sharp and to the point words. You can go into great length to describe something as long as it is ABSOLUTELY critical to the sales message.

Here’s a tip to help you write like a miser:

When writing online copy I avoid using a word processor. I actually go into my email program and write it in the email message window. It’s a mind-set thing. Makes sense doesn’t it! We all write emails in a quick, friendly, to the point way – much more economically than we do when writing snail mail. When you’ve written your draft THEN cut and paste it into your word processing program.

So, how do you make your words SELL online?

D – Create desire by spelling out the benefits and painting a picture of how better off their lives will be by investing in your product or service.

C – Gain their conviction. Convince them that they must purchase your product. Summarise your benefits in a powerful way. Include a powerful offer that convinces them to purchase now. Implement risk reversal techniques such as a FREE trial or a money back guarantee.

A – Incite action. Put a limited time frame on your offer and tell them how to order. Make it as easy as you can to purchase. Give them a number of options.

Copywriting, whether it’s offline or online is still all about YOU (or the client, that is). Write in a direct “me to you” way. Use twice as many “you’s” as you do “we’s”. This forces you to step into the readers’ shoes and by doing that you’re helping them relate (really relate) to what you’re saying.

There’s nothing that will make people click away faster than long, tedious paragraphs and long sentences. Break up those sentences. Break up those paragraphs into one or two sentences (at the very most).

Every time you move on to a new point include a subheading. This breaks up the copy and makes it much easier to read. It also enables people to scan your piece. With a good web piece you should be able to scan just the subheads and be able to pick out the major selling arguments in order so you can get a good gist of what the piece is about.

In situations where some readers may need to find out more about a certain point, instead of including a description in the main body of your online sales letter, include a link to an explanatory paragraph. This enables you to include all the copy you need to sell something WITHOUT watering down the power of your main piece.

It might be simply a description of the meaning of a certain term.

It might be links to additional research which proves that your product delivers results.

Testimonials SELL. Gather as many testimonials as you can from clients and feature them in a variety of different ways. Have a testimonials or “what clients say” section. Feature these testimonials as case studies AND use them as part of the copy when making a particular point.
