Women over a Certain Size Do Not Want to Wear Sleeveless Dresses
Monday, February 28th, 2011As we get older, many women begin to put on weight. I have noticed more and more of my friends in their 40’s are finding it really difficult to keep the weight off and most of them complain about putting on weight on their belly, which is often due to having given birth, as well as their arms. It is especially their arms that they dislike as although they are easy to cover up in the winter, they are not so easily covered in the summer.
Obviously, the thing to do would be to try and do some exercise and loose some weight but we all lead very busy lives and that is not always as easy as one might think. the worst thing for women in that position is to have to go out in the evening and find something to wear. The majority of fabulous evening dresses are sleeveless dresses. You quite often find that the one dress that you like best of all, and that fits almost perfectly, that is cut beautifully across the belly, is for some reason also a sleeveless dress. What is that about? Do designers forget that it is not just that a size 14 or 16 will have a belly that they want to hide, but that they also have much bigger arms that they would like to keep under wraps?
For many women the trick is to find a dress with either capped sleeves or a shrug that they can wear all night or day without having to take it off. If the dress and the shrug work together then it is a perfect combination.
